Drink plenty of water. Blood will be drawn before the treatment.
Clean the area of treatment. (If PRP is for hair, shampoo hairs the day of treatment)
If you have a fever, cold/flu symptoms, or a cold sore or rash near injection area, please reschedule (we won’t be able to start your treatment).
Discontinue taking steroids (i.e Prednisone ), and non-Steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID’s) such as Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Naproxen, and Meloxicam or Mobic at least 2 days prior to your PRP injection.
Post Treatment Care
Generally there are minimal restrictions after your PRP injections allowing you to return to your daily activities almost immediately (unless you have PRP for joints which we recommend 2-3 days of rest)
Do not touch, press, rub the treated area(s) for at least 6 hours after your treatment. Do not wash the scalp or shower for 6 hours after PRP injection for hair loss.
We recommend you to AVOID Steroids, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Advil, etc (all non-steroidal and steroidal anti-inflammatory agents) and Gingko Biloba for at least 7 days after your injection.
For discomfort or pain you may take Tylenol or apply Ice.
Do not apply lotions, creams, or make-up to the treatment area for at least 6 hours after your treatment.
Avoid vigorous exercise. Avoid sun and heat exposure. No cigarettes for at least 3 days after your procedure.
It is normal to experience some bruising, redness, itching, soreness, and swelling of the treated area which may last from 3-10 days following your procedure.
Forehead swelling may happen after Hair PRP, to minimize swelling, please elevate your head during sleep.
Swelling around eyes after PRP for eyelids is common and will subside in 2-3 days. Elevation of head will help to reduce the swelling.
